Gentle learning apps for little kids

A small family of iPhone and iPad apps for preschoolers, built by one person in California. Bright, calm, and made to be handed to a three-year-old without worrying about what happens next.

The apps

Each Gull app teaches one thing well. They share the same mascot, the same calm design, and the same promise about your child's privacy.

What every Gull app promises

These are not marketing lines. They describe how the apps are actually built, and they are the same for every app in the family.

  • Nothing is collected. No analytics, no advertising identifiers, no crash reporting, no profiles. There is nothing to opt out of because there is nothing being gathered.
  • Nothing is transmitted. The apps contain no networking code at all. Everything a child does stays on the device.
  • No third parties. No advertising networks, no analytics vendors, no social media kits. No outside code runs inside a Gull app.
  • No accounts and no sign-in. Open the app and play. There is nothing to create and no password to remember.
  • No ads, ever. Not banners, not videos, not "watch this to continue".
  • Grown-up settings sit behind a gate that a preschooler cannot pass.
  • Works with no internet. On a plane, in a car, in a waiting room.

Built with hearing in mind

Gull apps come from a developer who is hard of hearing, so every sound cue has something to look at as well. Prompts appear on screen as well as being spoken, the mascot reacts visibly, and taps confirm through touch. A Gull app is fully playable with the volume off.
